On Saturday, December 23 at 16h30 you can watch on VRT Eén the long-awaited documentary on the occasion of the 40th edition of Jumping Mechelen. The Christmas Jumping in Mechelen is the pre-eminent international equestrian event and the ideal closing of a season. With about 90,000 visitors and about 2,000 participating horses, Jumping Mechelen is the largest equestrian event in Belgium. That makes the Christmas Jumping already forty years old, which deserved special attention.
Ruben Van Gucht and his team therefore made a one-hour film the day of the World Cup in Mechelen on December 30, 2022. The documentary is a rollercoaster of emotions of the country's most famous show jumping competition and shows every facet that until now remained hidden from the general public: from course builder to director, from riders to competition director, from audience to jury. Extra bonus: In 2022, for the first time in 11 years, a Belgian will win the World Cup jumping at the Nekkerhal. It's only the sixth time that has succeeded.
