The mild winters and moderate summers in Belgium allow horses to remain on a pasture for a prolonged period of time if sufficient shelter is present. Moreover, it is a legal requirement to provide sufficient shelter for horses that permanently live on a pasture.
Did you know that our four-legged friends can stand cold and rain quite well? Your animals mainly require shelter when it is very hot. Trees can provide shelter from the sun but are often not enough. An open shelter is an obvious choice: this will allow animals to decide for themselves whether they want to take shelter.
